Melanie Hines

Melanie has over 30 years of experience in the field of intellectual property as an IP legal assistant, renewals and maintenance fee renewals administrator, paralegal and docketing specialist. She has in-depth experience in U.S. and foreign patent application preparation, filing, and prosecution and maintenance/renewals. Her skillset spans a wide range of patent filings, including Provisional Patent Applications, Non-provisional Patent Applications, Continuing Applications, PCT (International) Patent Applications, National Phase Patent Applications and Design Applications for a diverse array of clients and technologies. On the trademark side of our practice, Melanie is experienced in filing, examination, registration, post-registration processes and maintenance of patent and trademark properties.

Melanie also prepares necessary documents and provides paralegal support for the enforcement and defense of our clients’ intellectual property rights, including all phases of pre-litigation activity and dispute resolution. To assist with IP portfolio management for our clients, Melanie generates reports ranging from patent and trademark portfolio status reports, maintenance and annuity reports, and substantive reports relating to due diligence and landscape reporting of intellectual property assets. Melanie regularly prepares intellectual property assignment agreements, and many other legal documents and supports the preparation of opinions by our attorneys. As necessary, she attends to filing and recording such documents with various government bodies.
