Profile:
Eric R. Bartlam is an intellectual property attorney focusing his expertise on patent preparation and prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, opinions on issues related to infringement, validity, patentability and other IP issues, licensing, and other legal agreements, as well as prosecution strategy for patent filings around the world. He also develops litigation strategy, participates in litigation and dispute resolution, and provides counsel on many intellectual property issues of our clients. Eric directs his patent practice toward mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies in wide ranging areas including medical devices, agricultural equipment, high security access devices, outdoor power equipment, industrial machinery, electronic/software controls, and vehicle accessories.
Mr. Bartlam’s past experience includes positions as a mechanical engineer and an engineering manager in system design, manufacturing, and construction. He has designed and directed the manufacture of industrial equipment, including boilers, emissions control systems for power plants, and combustion turbine power generation equipment. Eric also has extensive experience with natural gas distribution systems, electric motors and generators, engines, pumps, agitators, compressors, and the like. In his patent practice, Eric further leverages his knowledge of various heat exchange technology, high energy piping systems, HVAC systems, and many types of system controls and instrumentation.
